ERCOT has issued another ‘Conservation Appeal’ for Tuesday, Jan 16th, 2024 from 6:00AM – 9:00AM (tomorrow morning)

As a reminder, a Conservation Appeal is a request from ERCOT asking customers to reduce their electricity usage when and where it is safe to do so. Some recommendations on how to reduce your usage include keeping your thermostat at or below 68 Degrees F and avoiding the use of large appliances such as:
- Avoid charging electric vehicles
- Using Washers/Dryers
- Using Corded Vacuum Cleaners
- Hair Dryers
- Dishwashers
- Large corded power/automotive tools
- Gaming desktops and consoles (includes bitcoins miners!)

ERCOT has issued a formal Conservation Appeal for Monday, Jan 15th from 6-10 AM
What is a ‘Conservation Appeal’?
ERCOT (the association responsible for managing the entire Texas electric grid) is requesting that all Texans consider making a few adjustments to their power consumption habits during the time period specified. This means refraining from over-using electricity by managing your home’s thermostat and avoiding larger appliances. Some examples are:
- Avoid charging electric vehicles
- Washer/Dryers
- Corded Vacuum Cleaners
- Hair Dryers
- Dishwashers
- Large corded power/automotive tools
- Gaming desktops and consoles (includes bitcoins miners!)
